. emma & a few of jackson too .

. emma is going to be a flower girl soon and we thought it'd be fun to get a few photos of her in her pretty little dress . she was excited about coming to my "stadium" (that's what she calls the studio) and doing this . jackson thinks i live there now . kids are always good for laughs ! so, back to emma being excited . she came out, said "CHEEEEEESE" for about 3 snaps and then said she was done and ready to go outside and play . hm...good thing she liked my idea of the lemons and limes, those finally brought the smiles .

. so we did change and go outside for a little more fun . and tried to talk jackson into a few photos too .

. he was told before coming that he wouldn't be in the photos . parents, never tell your kid this...because you really don't know for sure that that won't happen !

. in no time at all we were playing and having a good time and he didn't care in the least that i was taking photos of him .

. lemon and lime tic tac toe . when they got home emma's dad asked emma's mom what 'kick that toe' is because emma wanted to play it . and she wanted to use lemons and limes .

. looove this one .

. my normal approach is not to ask the kids i shoot to smile . i'll interact with them and a smile will just come . not so much with jackson . to get a smile out of him i had to say 'give me your school picture smile', and there it was, immediately .

. threw mom in a few, she thought she wasn't going to be in them either . i love impromptu shoots !
