. sandburr rodeo at trekfest .

. i ended my day saturday at trekfest at the big rodeo . i was quite impressed with how well done this rodeo was and the heart in it all . i had a great time taking it all in from behind my lens .

. if you live in the area, you know we've had a lot of rain recently and i thought they worked around (and in) all the mud wonderfully .

. this little guy was so cute, he hung on for quite a while . here's the sequence of events .

. i had just been warned that broncs tend to run into the fences so to watch out when they come at it . not minutes later... i'm right at the fence, using my telephoto lens (although i forgot this part) and this bronc starts coming towards me and i remember what i had just been told - i freaked out a little bit . standing in mud, stumbled backwards as fast as i could, realizing he really wasn't all that close . i felt just a tad silly .

. if i had only known that i also had mud smeared across my forehead the entire rodeo long i probably wouldn't have cared in the least . i think the people behind me probably got a good laugh, although i was too embarassed to turn around and look .
