. what a great week it was .

. so bee and i met up and went to brooke's this week in the chicago area . so much to do there and with friends i haven't seen in forever...it was the best time, really .

. i loved seeing herky again, i haven't seen him since he was a puppy and he, brooke and michael came and stayed with us . remember, he was the little city dog on the front porch watching the big dogs play . if i wasn't so lazy i'd dig it out and post it . but i'm too lazy, sorry . while he was there i couldn't help myself, i trimmed the hair out from around his eyes...i love the long shaggy look with the big eyes showing (for those that don't know, i used to groom dogs) . good thing his mommy and daddy didn't mind .

. michael and brooke were the perfect host and hostess . they have a small apartment and put up with us moving in and moving in some more stuff the longer we stayed and shopped .

. the two are such a sweet couple .

. thursday afternoon we decided to go downtown naperville to do a little shooting and shopping . poor bee, she had to put up with us since she was pretty much our only subject . brooke and i prefer to be on the backside of the camera . although our backgrounds were so great we made each other shed the camera for a few photos of each other . and every photographer needs a few shots with their camera in hand, so a few of those too . if you want to see things from brooke's perspective check out her blog .

. love this little girly . so, in case you don't know our history i used to babysit for this little lady . we, of course, have our favorite memories of those years: making mac and cheese, i spy, doing her hair... now she nannies for her full time job and friday she brought her two little charges back to her place to see me and bee before we left and guess what we had for lunch, mac and cheese . it was so strange . in a good way .

. another highlight from our trip was attending a commercial photo shoot through the connections of one of brooke's awesome friends, lauren . brooke and i were extras in the photos . the photo shoot took place at an aloft hotel and was so much fun to watch and be a part of . i'm still kicking myself for not taking photos of this experience, but it's one of those things i'll not soon forget . and maybe at some point i'll see the actual images from the shoot .

. so, great week . great to be home .
