. and this couple is fabulous . the last time they had family photos done was when their daughter (who is grown) was in 1st grade . so glad they decided that now was the time .

. aren't they a good looking couple . style, i'm telling you . i loved every outfit nancy brought, and we only used a few of them . she has fabulous taste .

. i'm beginning to learn a have a little sway as the photographer . if i say the shirt looks better untucked, they'll leave it . if i say we need a photo of just mom and dad, they do it ! such power i have . i think dean looks great with that shirt untucked .

. they didn't really want photos of their hands, but for some reason their body language spoke volumes to me and the hands just happen to be in the shots !

. this session was a whirlwind session with the adventure of finding clothes as well, although on a different day . 7:30 am session, downtown iowa city, definitely my idea of fun . our goal is to find one photo to make into a canvas for their wall in their new home . as most of you know, i know and love this family, as the dad is my brother, so i was happy to work on this fun little project .

. these two are such a special couple . ben is my cousin and i was super anxious to shoot this engagement session because number one, he and cayla are adorable and number two, cayla was very into this shoot (as she's a photographer as well) and had some ideas for what she wanted that were right up my alley . and let me just say how much i love having input and ideas from my clients .

. told you they are adorable .

. started loosing light, but we made the best of it .
